The sham areeverywhere . At this breaker point , it might be easier to just point out the image on the internet that are real , rather than show you all the fraud that have been diffuse recently . Then again , this way ’s always more fun .
1) Arethesestrange clouds over Mount Fuji real?
Lenticular cloudssure are nerveless looking . But the double on the leftfield is just a Photoshop caper . This bastard image hasbeen aroundfor at least a couple of yr now , but it keeps getting passed around as genuine again and again . Stop it , guys . Just stop .

2) Are these thefounders of Harley-Davidson?
In the early 1900s William Harley , his admirer Arthur Davidson and many of Davidson ’s house members all teamed up in Milwaukee to make one of the most iconic company of twentieth century America : Harley - Davidson motorcycles . But is the photo above really of William Harley and Arthur Davidson in 1914 ? Nope .
The always amazingPicPedantdid a little inquiry on this photograph only to find that ( surprise ! surprise ! ) it ’s not what so many people on the internet claim it to be . Turns out the photo is just two random motorcycle fancier from Minnesota .
From aHarley - Davidson buff pagewhere the picture first appeared online :

I was enjoying your page with all the old Harleys and remembered that I have a photo of my first cousin ’s grandfather and his grandfather ’s pal each sit on the brand new 1914 Harleys that they purchase in 1914 . I am not certain , but I believe the picture may have been taken at the dealership ( likely not realy a dealership back then , but the guy must have been an HD distributer ) in Wanamingo , MN .
Below we have a pic of William S. Harley ( right ) and William A. Davidson ( in sidecar , and Father-God ofArthur Davidson ) in 1924 from theAMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame .

4) Isthislightning striking a tree?
Nope . This is a long - exposure loose manipulation photo with a lightning dash photoshopped in . As theMuseum of Hoaxespoints out , this image was created by Darren Pearson , who also goes by the name Darius Twin . 5) Isthisthe space shuttle breaching the clouds?
It ’s a nerveless picture , but of course it ’s too unspoilt to be true . The Maker of the image on the left , Richard Silverasays quite plainly , “ This look-alike is a complex of 2 pictorial matter . ” An almost equally nerveless photo that shows thespace shuttlecock Challengerstill on the solid ground in November of 1982 is on the right and is emphatically real .

6) Isthisa picnic on an American highway during the 1973 oil crisis?
I ’ve always wonder aboutthis photograph , since I ’ve seen it pass through my societal media stream at least a dozen metre in the last class . It purports to show Americans having a picnic on a major expressway in 1973 . The1970s oil crisiswas crushing to American automobilist . There were shortage and Americans often had to wait in long lines to replete up their tank . But the highways did n’t suddenly become empty .
Well , asHoax of Famepoints out , the photo is n’t American at all . The image actually get from The Netherlands . It was taken in 1973 when the nation imposed “ Car - Free Sundays ” which would occur periodically during the 1973 - 74 oil crisis .
Below , another pic from a motorcar - free Sunday in 1973 .

7) Is athisa meteor over Stonehenge in England?
No , that ’s not a meteor over Stonehenge ( or Stonehedge , as thismisleading tweetcalls it ) . For whatever reason this image just wo n’t die , getting clear around on Twitter , Pinterest , and Tumblr again and again . The exposure demo a very realfireball meteorover Oklahoma in 2008 . But some jerk put it behind Stonehenge and suddenly it just wo n’t go away no matter how many times uranology sleuths likeFakeAstropixdebunk it .

8) Isthisphoto of “kissing islands” in Greenland real?
No , those are n’t island that just bechance to look like they ’re human faces tenderly kissing . It ’s yet another ad campaign . But strangely , some people are cropping out the Pfizer logotype and claim that they ’re real islands . The Italian branch of international ad agencySaatchi & Saatchiappears to have come up with this one .
Onthe aright , another look-alike from the crusade that appears to show some kind of brain / cephalalgia message . And since Pfizer makes Viagra , we might safely take over the one on the left is for that small dark oral contraceptive ? Either way , it ’s as fake as they add up .
