Aaron Rodgersis on the road to recovery.
The quarterback, 39, revealed in an Instagram Story post Thursday that he underwentsurgery to repair his left Achilles tendonthat was torn during the New York Jets' game against the Buffalo Bills Monday.
“Surgery went great yesterday,” he captioned an image of himself smiling and laying on a hospital bed. “Thank you for all the love and prayers and support.”

On Wednesday, Rodgers confirmed that the injury has left him out for the remainder of the season in apost on Instagram.

He also used the post as an opportunity to thank those who have reached out to offer their support and vowed to “rise yet again.”
According toESPN, Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters Wednesday that he’d be “shocked if this is the way” Rodgers ends his football career. Saleh added that he hasn’t talked to Rodgers directly about his future and that he’s “working through a whole lot of headspace things that he needs to deal with.”

Theinjury occurred near the beginning of the first quarterof Monday night’s game after Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd sacked Rodgers. The game was Rodgers' debut with the Jets after playing the first 14 seasons of his career with theGreen Bay Packers.
Zach Wilsonreplaced Rodgers as the Jets' starting quarterback Monday and helped lead the team to an overtime win over the Bills. He is expected to start on Sunday when the Jets play the Dallas Cowboys.
