This Aaton Cantar - XTC portable field recording machine is so beautiful I do n’t know what to say , exactly . I consider I want it inside of me . The ruggedized recorder is build up around a 120 GB hard effort with an 10 to 15 hour stamp battery life , 18 simultaneous inputs , water- and dust - proof linear sliders and rotary faders designed to be used even with gloves on . And then once you have all of that 24bit/96KHz audio recorded and sundry down , you may burn the tracks out to DVD with the built - in burner hidden behind the front door .
And do n’t forget those gorgeous owl - eyed modulometer readout — I do n’t recognise what they ’re for exactly , but who care ? I just want to take the $ 18,000 recorder into my tender embracement until my nerdy folds grow over it , like a tree hugging a barbed wire fence .
