The Chief Financial Officer at Asus , David Chang , hastold the Wall Street Journalthat Google is selling nearly one million Nexus 7 tablets every calendar month – and that figure looks set to rise , too .
In an interview with the Journal , Chang explained :
“ At the beginning , it was , for instance , 500 K units a month , then perchance 600 , 700K. This late calendar month , it was close to one million . ”
While those figure still place the Nexus 7 behind the iPad in footing of sales – hellhole , Apple managed to budge 14 million of its tab in the last quarter alone – there ’s a clear upward trend there .
No doubt that ’s in big part a result of affordability . Google ’s Nexus 7 is beautifully priced at $ 200 for the canonic model , and it ’s now joined bya larger stablematewhich undercut the iPad , too . While it seems improbable that Google will overtake Apple any fourth dimension soon , it ’s understandably give it a running play for its money . [ Wall Street Journal ]
