When Applefirst announcedOS X Yosemite , Handoffwas one of the lineament I was most aroused about . And then this hebdomad , when the Yosemite update arrived , I was stoke to use it . Unfortunately , I can’t — and not justbecause of compatibility issues , either .
Handoff but does n’t work with my iMac and iPhone . It also does n’t work for several other Gizmodo staffers with standardised set ups . We all have reasonably new devices that boast the precious Bluetooth 4.0 needed for Handoff , and we all have Handoff enabled in preferences .
The problem appeared to be a Bluetooth connectivity issue , at first . But after following every troubleshooting advice I could find — including hit all Bluetooth devices from my iMac , erase the Bluetooth preferences file , and resume the automobile — Apple told me on a documentation call that “ it should just work automatically . ”
It does not .
I ’ve given up on Handoff for now . Just one of my coworkers was able to get it working . But I wonder : Who else is having incomprehensible problems with Handoff ? Apple never could tell me why it was n’t mould . Are you induce alike problem ?
