Crypto hackers looking to raise their pump - and - deck scheme of late managed to chop Donald Trump ’s honest-to-goodness tweet and insert links to their memecoin website into them , journalist Matt Binderreports .
The hackers were able-bodied to accomplish this via a hemipterous insect in the URL shortener Bitly , according to Binder . By exploiting the bug , the hackers could swap out the link in the tweet for their own . Many of Trump ’s old tweets were hijacked in this fashion . Most memorably , one of them , which mentions one of Trump ’s appearance on the Sean Hannity show on Fox , was hacked to redirect viewers to the hackers ’ memecoin site . The image embedded in the new link includes what look like a au naturel Donald Trump getting hose down with a spray tan gun : “ YUGE , ” the young image interpret . “ YUGE ASF . ”
The image was still up when Gizmodo checked the links . you could see the original tweethere . Remarkably , it ’s still up at the moment .

Other tweet were also cut . One Trump billet from 2013 — in which he encouraged substance abuser to follow him on Instagram — likewise redirected to the pump and dump memecoin scheme . Yet another tweet , this one posted by Melania Trump about her new jewelry collection , was also hijacked , Binder shows .
