Two Romanians , report as “ outside computer hackers ” by the United States Justice Department , have been extradite to the United States to confront hacking and fraud armorial bearing .
Teodor Laurentiu Costea , 41 , and Robert Codrut Dumitrescu , 40 , are accused of using electronic computer in the Atlanta , Georgia , domain to station “ thousands of automated telephone calls and text content ” to victims in the region , incorrectly representing themselves as financial institutions . The targets were then provided a phone bit and told to call to resolve issue with their bank accounts , grant to the DOJ .
When the victims called , the agency tell , they were “ prompted by interactive voice reaction software program to enter their bank business relationship number , pin , and full or partial Social Security numbers . ”
