The scribble begins with a 360 - point spell of Where the Wild Things Are , but also spotlight his other masterpiece , like In the Night Kitchen , a book that was surrounded by contention because its young protagonist appeared fully naked . Sendak had strong public opinion about the difference — or lack thereof — between children and adults . “ I do n’t believe in child , ” he splendidly said . “ I do n’t believe there ’s a demarcation of ‘ you must n’t narrate them this , you must n’t evidence them that . ’ You recite them anything you want . ”
