Scooty, a dog with special needs, was showered with surprises for her 13th birthday.

The pooch’s owner, who lives in San Diego, told Storyful, “People donated balloons from all over the world, and I hand-wrote all their messages to Scooty.”

A couple weeks before Scooty’s 13th birthday celebration, her owner posted footage from the dog’s 11th birthday two years ago, for which she’d ordered 30 balloons.

“Look how happy she is!” she wrote. “It was a hit, and she loved popping all the balloons.”

Scooty’s pet parent added that those who donated money toward this year’s decorations would also be contributing to the publication of a children’s book honoring the canine character, in addition to getting the chance to see Scooty pop a balloon handwritten with their personal message.
